We are excited to announce Summer 2022 brings the return of horsemanship learning opportunities with the miniature horses at  at Talariah Stables.  

 

Lessons are designed for children ages 4-8.  No prior experience necessary.  

All lessons this summer are parent/child sessions.  Adults will be active participants in each lesson.  Adults will remain on site with your child for the duration of the lesson. Please plan to arrange alternate childcare for any children not participating in the lesson.

Summer 2022 ~Two types of lessons:

small group lessons ($35)

These parent/child lesson will engage your little one in active learning and fun.  Adults are active participants in each session. Students will learn the basics of horse care  while developing skills in confidence, problem solving, and responsibility.

Lessons can be scheduled to fit your calendar (for example, 4 days in a row while the grand kids are in town, 2x/week for ongoing learning, or even a single visit to just test it out - we will do our best to make it work for you and your little one)

 

Group Lesson Sessions are available, June 13-July 14, Mon-Thurs, beginning at 8:00 am or 10:00 am (early in the day is important, before it gets too hot).

 

Group lessons offer the option to purchase a 5 lesson or 8 lesson Multi-pack.  The multi-pack will provide a discount, reducing your overall cost per lesson.  Multi-packs can also be split and applied to multiple children.

The focus of lessons will vary each session, but will include topics such as:

• Horse safety

• Caring for a horse

• Thinking like a horse

• Catching & Leading

• Grooming

• Stable care

• Horse tack basics

• Controlling your horse

• Hoof care and more

Group lessons last 1 1/2 hours.

private lessons  ($50)- all private sessions currently full

* if this is the option you are wanting please email us or join the wait list for our private lesson sessions (found on the date of each session in the booking calendar)  We may be able to add additional private sessions to help you.

 

Private lessons are available in the evenings (7:00 pm & later, after daytime temps begin to cool off).

Beginning June 20 - July 14 there are 2 private lesson sessions available each week.

 

A private lesson might be right for you if your child has special needs that would require our lesson pacing to shift.  This may also a good option for families that would like to bring several children to enjoy the minis at the same time. 

 

Private lessons are priced per horse used rather than per child attending (the base rate of $50 assumes only one horse needed for your session). When you schedule a private lesson we will reach out to learn more about your family needs, so we can develop the best plan for your time at our farm. (Private lessons are NOT INCLUDED in the multi-lessons discount package.)

 

Private lessons last 1 hour.
